Update on a church divided
April 16, 2008After many months, the church divided is coming back together under the leadership of an interim pastor and his directing us to rely on the Holy Spirit. It has been a growing period for all concerned. As we approach the decision of calling a new leader, we are all praying that the right decision will be made. Many who were hurt still do not feel that we are ready for that decision, but we really are. It is time to put the past behind us and get on with what God wants us to do in our community.
Men and women alike have stepped up and are moving in step with God. We realize that the church leadership is there to help us, but not to do everything. This has been uncomfortable for the hired staff, and sometimes threatening, but the congregation just wants to get on with the Lord’s work here and use the gifts and talents He has given them. The interim pastor has encouraged this but some of the existing staff is still dragging their feet.
