After many months, the church divided is coming back together under the leadership of an interim pastor and his directing us to rely on the Holy Spirit. It has been a growing period for all concerned. As we approach the decision of calling a new leader, we are all praying that the right decision will be made. Many who were hurt still do not feel that we are ready for that decision, but we really are. It is time to put the past behind us and get on with what God wants us to do in our community.
Men and women alike have stepped up and are moving in step with God. We realize that the church leadership is there to help us, but not to do everything. This has been uncomfortable for the hired staff, and sometimes threatening, but the congregation just wants to get on with the Lord’s work here and use the gifts and talents He has given them. The interim pastor has encouraged this but some of the existing staff is still dragging their feet.
As progress continues, I will update.

Sunday night “a church divided’ voted in a new pastor with an approval percentage of 94.1. Praise the Lord. It looks like after a year of healing we are no longer divided, but have come together. We pray that the 6% will be able to stand behind our new pastor, too. If you are one of them, what can we do to help? All of us have grown during this period, and hopefully we have adopted Paul’s admonition in 1 Corinthians to set aside our own desires and work toward the common goal. We will never all agree on everything such as music, dress codes, leadership styles , etc. but we must agree on the fact that God has placed us here for a purpose and it is up to us to do all we can to reach that purpose and goal.
